My Story

Grew up in a remote town, in the outskirts of Chennai. Had very limited exposure to the real outside world. As I grew up, completing engineering and getting placed in one of those companies from campus was always the ultimate goal, I had set for myself. Did Chemical Engineering and worked with Essar Oil in Gujarat for a couple of years. While working at Essar, realised that I could push to be more ambitious than what I had set out for. Pursued PGDM for MDI Gurgaon where I was exposed to a very wide range of choices to pick from. Finance interested me and I majored in it.

How I got into investment banking?

During my MBA, I developed an interest in analysing businesses and sectors. It laid the foundation for building a career in the financial services space. Post my MBA, started off with investment banking, then moved to sell-side equity research for a brief period and came back to investment banking.

What keeps me up at night?

The work we do create a huge amount of difference in the lives of so many people. The realization that our work can potentially make or break lives is what keeps me going and pushing hard.

My inspirations

Formula One Drivers (will be unfair to single out any one): F1 is a very brutal sport and there are so many variables at play. The perfection, the attitude and the amount of mental toughness one needs to demonstrate at the highest level of the sport is just unreal. F1 taught me the role of “randomness” in life and the need to be mentally strong to deal with it.

My focus/interest

Growth and early-stage technology enabled companies across Consumer, Logistics and B2B.

What excites me?

Entrepreneurs who think first principles, are getting their hands dirty and have a very deep understanding of the problem statement. Businesses which have truly added value to all the stakeholders in the ecosystem.

Best piece of advice given to me

Learn to disagree and still give your 100%

Under promise and over deliver

My advice to entrepreneurs

Market is the ultimate truth. Keep your eyes and ears very very close to it.

What IndigoEdge is to me?

A platform which motivates and supports one to test and push their limits constantly. By far,

the most people-centric, trust-based, fair and transparent organization that I have been a

part of. We are a group of like-minded folks trying to re-write the way investment banking is done.

Cooling off

Long walks and drives.

I have a large, closely knit family. Spending time with family recharges me.
